VP of Operations

Job Description:

We are seeking an innovative and experienced operations professional to join our rapidly growing team and help bring a revolutionary consumer diagnostic product to market. This highly motivated, experienced senior leader takes initiative and wants to make a real impact in a fast-paced start-up environment. This is a ground floor opportunity to build an operations team and establish a global supply chain.

The VP of Operations will be responsible for all aspects of the product delivery cycle from selection of best in class manufacturing partners to implementation of a forward and reverse logistics strategy. The expected activities will include the establishment of Asian & US based manufacturing, development of a global supply chain, delivery of product from point of manufacture through direct and retail sales channels.

This individual will be a member of our senior leadership team and must have strong leadership skills, be able to clearly articulate status and key decision choices in a transparent manner. We are seeking a seasoned visionary who is creative and excited to build a game changing company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build a world class global manufacturing/operations team.
  2. Establish relationships with and negotiate MSA’s (master supply agreements) with multiple CM’s (contract manufacturers) based on open book costing.
  3. Work closely with the VP of Engineering to meet or beat product cost targets, review designs for manufacturability and implement product into mass production in a timely manner.
  4. Work with selected CM’s to establish a global supply chain and manufacturing methodologies that support quality goals of the product.
  5. Synchronize factory output with a dynamic sales forecast .
  6. Implement 3PL (3rd party logistics) networks to deliver product from factory to consumer through direct online and retail sales channels.
  7. Providing tracking and status information on manufacturing/operations progress to program management, the executive team and at board meetings.
  8. Travel both domestic and international as needed.

Professional Requirements:

  • BS in a Technical Discipline
  • MS in Operations or MBA highly desirable
  • 15+ years leadership roles in operations, supply chain and logistics
  • 7+ years working in a high volume low cost consumer, automotive and/or medical disposable manufacturing environment.
  • Direct experience working with Asian and off-shore CM’s
  • Forward thinking leader with deep knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and DFX (design for manufacture, assembly, service, environment, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of plastic injection molding, tooling and EMS

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop overall software architecture, data structures and specifications.
  2. Implement a software development environment and version control tools to meet quality/regulatory standards.
  3. Work closely with electrical/embedded engineers to develop software that sequences and drives subsystems within the device such as motors, valves, pumps and optical sensors.
  4. Implement secure data transfer protocol for data transfer to/from device, app, and cloud.
  5. Design, develop, and maintain simple, easy to use UX and UI for IOS & Android handheld applications and device interfaces.

Program Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a fast-paced, innovative, experienced professional to join our rapidly growing team and bring revolutionary consumer diagnostic products to market.  We specifically want talent who takes initiative and wants to make a real impact in a start-up environment.  Ground floor opportunity to build and grow a Program Management competency.

The Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team in development of a new food allergy testing device without a direct reporting relationship. PM will manage all aspects of new product development from concept to manufacturing stages including schedule creation, tracking, status reports, Cost of Goods management, quality standard review, introduction quantities, required samples and leading cross functional team to on time completion and product introduction. PM is responsible for delivering the product to production ramp-up on or before the target dates, at or below the projected cost of goods estimates, and within expected quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, drive, and maintain project schedules for new product introductions.
  2. Lead cross-functional team to on-time product introduction, while maintaining or exceeding quality standards and estimated cost projections.
  3. Manage program resources, identify and track action items, and assign tasks to appropriate team members.
  4. Develop Program plans following DOTs phased iterative hardware process, conduct Phase/Gate/Status Reviews with Sr. Leadership.
  5. Enforce project milestones and deadlines, and assist with completion of critical deliverables.
  6. Drive decisions with cross functional team regarding costs, quality factors, schedules, or other related issues.
  7. Facilitate project communication with core team, extended team and supply base.
  8. Drive continuous improvement of product development methods for increased efficiency and shortened time to market.
  9. Track program related financial elements including, COG’S, ROI, cost avoidance, margin studies and support financial driven contingency plans.
  10. Execute Project Plans: Work with subordinates and/or peers to accomplish an assigned objective.
  11. Manage and coordinate the effort of those necessary to complete the project.

Professional Qualifications / Experience:

  • B.S. in technical field, manufacturing or engineering; MS preferred
  • 10+ years project/program management experience or equivalent supervisory/managerial background
  • Previous experience managing new product development projects in consumer product or automotive companies
  • Previous experience managing product development cycle from basic research efforts through prototype, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and product introduction.
  • Prior experience with far east contract manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge of high volume plastic injection molding and tooling preferred
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, and web-based tools.
  • Strong organizational and motivational skills, with a close attention to detail.

  • Advanced degree highly desirable

Job Description:

As the company’s Director of Digital, you will be responsible for P&L of our direct sales channels, ROI and brand health for all digital performance marketing and CRM, and overall user experience for the App and website. Responsibilities include launching and driving the business with all digital touchpoints.

As part of a start-up, role includes both managing and hands on execution as a sole contributor.

  • Manage Web / App Developer to build, test QA, launch, and maintain all digital properties and execute all digital campaigns.
  • Manage Social Media Manager for consistency in messaging on social media channels and to support email marketing execution.

Work with Product Manager for content for the FAQs, how to videos, and customer service. Manage Web Developer and Social Media Manager. Manage external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the overall P&L for direct channel including the website, app, and all digital marketing.

  1. Execute all digital marketing including SEO, SEM, digital advertising, and social media 
  2. Drive performance marketing with measureable channels and ongoing optimization of traffic and conversion. Manage, analyze, and report on all measurement including Google analytics, brand health, and social metrics.

  10. Support all consumer & professional tradeshows to drive awareness and conversion of the brand from a conference and social media engagement perspective.
  11. Ongoing, develop content and additional platforms for the App
  12. Follow digital trends ongoing, and incorporate best practices into ecomm, app, and performance marketing plans.

Professional Qualifications / Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
  • Strong experience building, launching, and maintaining own brand ecomm site

Senior Product Marketing Manager

Job Description:

You will be responsible for leading the voice of the consumer in all products and touchpoints of the consumer experience and launching the product to market. Responsibilities will include leading and executing all market research. Role includes both strategic thinking and hands on execution as a sole contributor. As a start-up with a small team, responsibilities will vary and may change based on the needs of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Launch the product and drive consumer delight throughout the first moment of truth, second moment of truth and into advocacy.

  1. Define, refine, and execute market requirements and performance claims for current and future products by conducting marketing research.
  2. Lead all market research during development and post-launch. Includes qualitative and quantitative, database management for recruiting, use of Mailchimp and Salesforce. 
  3. Develop and manage smart (specific, measureable, actionable, realists, time bound) requirements for all aspects of the consumer experience with the product.  
  4. Work cross-functionally with Engineering and Science teams to ensure product meets all marketing requirements. 
  5. Develop and implement all instructions for use, including written manuals, how to videos, packaging, spec information and FAQs for customer service and the app/website.
  6. Develop final packaging, including structure and graphics, inner & outer packaging.  
  7. Develop and implement go to market plan, including all product-based communication, ecomm site, packaging, and other touchpoints. 
  8. Develop key demo materials and demonstrate product to all key influencers. 
  9. Attend all consumer & professional tradeshows to drive awareness and conversion of the brand. Lead execution for tradeshow booth and signage development as well as conference attendance logistics.
  10. Ongoing, develop content and additional platforms for the product ecosystem.  

Professional Qualifications / Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
